Last week, following the departure of John and Edward Grimes, The X Factor had its final 5: Lloyd Daniels, Joe McElderry (mentored by Cheryl Cole), Stacey Solomon (mentored by Dannii Minogue), Olly Murs and Danyl Johnson (mentored by Simon Cowell).

The final five had to sing two songs last weekend – Take That and Elton John. X Factor Judges no longer have a vote but they can still express their opinions about each act.

Four weeks in a row Lloyd Daniels has been the betting favourite to leave the X Factor but he was determined not to let some bad comments get to him.
During last few weeks he has been repeatedly criticized by Louis Walsh who said that Lloyd Daniels shouldn’t be in the show.

Last Saturday Lloyd Daniels tried to make a stand for himself with his Elton John song ‘I’m Still Standing’ and also performed a second song by Take That ‘A Million Love Songs’.

Dannii Minogue: There’s a million girls out there that want your phone number. You always put on a great performance, you always bounce back.

Simon Cowell: Look, Lloyd. It was a very very good choice of song. It’s a teen pop song. I thought you sang it OK, but what you’ve got to show us in the audience is that you’ve got fire in your eyes, that you want to stay in this competition.

Cheryl Cole: I’m very proud of you for coming out and delivering each week after you get such hard criticism.

Louis Walsh: ‘Lloyd, the thing is you are in the final five, so obviously people like you more than I do. I think the song suited you better than last week.’

Lloyd Daniels has been steadily improving over the last couple of weeks and that was probably his best vocal performance on The X Factor competition.

There can only be one winner and Lloyd was the next contestant to leave The X Factor competition.

Despite being blasted as “karaoke” by judge Louis Walsh, Lloyd’s mentor Cheryl Cole predicted a bright future for him Daniels. She said: ‘Lloyd is only 16, he has got loads of time to blossom into a real star.’

Lloyd handled his exit with such grace!
