Simon Cowell wikimediaJoe McElderry might have swiped the official X Factor winner’s title this year, but the only guaranteed winner in all of this is Simon Cowell.

He now has Joe McElderry signed to his record company, after raking the millions from the phone votes in support of Joe, and through the TV production company that he owns.

We all know what happens to X Factor winners. But it’s the X Factor runners-up who have the most interesting tales about Simon Cowell’s star-making machine.


The X Factor winner leaves the show with a £1m contract with Simon Cowell’s label, Syco Entertainment. The others must make what they can — gigs, interviews, public appearances.

For the X Factor runners up there is simply the hope that they can still make it.

Olly Murs recently admitted he didn’t know where his career was headed because he hasn’t heard from his mentor Simon Cowell.

    hiya i dont know if this is lloyd or just his prodcuers; But please can you reply- I haven’t been this obbsessed with a boy, and i live in cardiff- I absoloutley love lloyd with a pashion, and was quite upset to find he had a girlfriend:( ..     hey lloyd, i am going to the concert on Sunday (7th) and i can’t wait 2 c u!!!

    I have got a top i designed myself and my mum got it made into a top for my christmas. I am in the 3rd row from the front so u will see my top. i am bringing my annual, cd and x factor chocolate for u to hopefully sign. see u then luv u xxx
